I love it actually. When I first updated, I was like, hmm, what happened to my stuff?
After a bit of fooling aroung and a chat with some woman wanting me to come see her on her webcam show, well, I had it licked.
For you that hate change, don't update, because this is change.
If you updated and hate it, and have a recent backup of your phone or iDevice, you can go back.
So, what do you all say?
It's different than previous versions, but I don't mind the layout. Once you get used to it, it's not so bad.
In the last few days, i come across quite a lot of complain about it. I love it. Skype for iPhone is now pretty similar to what Skype for iPad lay out for a while now. for all your contacts, its now replace with the People tab, when you get there, you got all your choices and goodies again. I do agree, for those that reluctant to change, maybe might want to use the old version as things might be different on the new Skype for iPhone user.
I don't love it nor hate it. I don't understand it yet, but I don't go on as often,
my phone keeps me signed in. I'll explore it more soon.
Personally, I hate it, but that is just my opinion and I can see where others are coming from.
I have a friend who has a lot of problems with the new Skype for IOS. if they are online on their phone, it does not accept phone calls and they can't see chat messages. I don't have an IPhone so I can't help with that...
I don't mind it, but I wish I could figure out how to delete messages or recent activity in general. I've tried everything I can think of with no luck.
I have to agree with you Brooke i like it but i can't figure out how to delete
messages or recent activity either
I've not done this either.
Here is what I suspect. You know how you can set your history to remember say 1 week, 2 weeks, and so on? On another deviice maybe if you set it to 0, it will forget.
I've not tried that yet. Should be on the phone in the settings maybe too.
I'm going to give that a try, but so far I'm in the same boat. I don't mind it, but it is one thing I haven't figured out.
Okay people. Here is how I delete the recent in Skype for iPhone.
I get to the person and tap twice and hold much like deleting an app.
Once I hold if I slide down I find the delete button. It is just above the home button some.
Also, Skype updated again, but nothing I can see seems to have changed.
Maybe there was some sort of flaw.
Enjoy.
With the new update, there are some major bug fixes, and it allows you to delete chats in a more of a direct way now.
This update is mainly focus on bug fixes i believe.
So, because I have Skype on my iPad and iPhone, I show up as online all the time, even if I don't have Skype running. Not a complaint, just an observation.
Sign out.
In the first window at the bottom click more. You'll find sign out.
I meant the main ninu botton. The button in the bottom right corner.
When I first sign on, at the top I see my status. Top right. If I tap that on I am able to change it to anything I like just like on my computer.
I look down and see my status, Online, I tap that and have the options.
Oh, thanks for that.
I wonder what would happen if I actually did get a Skype call on that account? Would it ring on both my iPad and iPhone at the same time? Lol. I should do the sign out thing just in case that happens.
Now that one I have no idea. Lol
Call yourself.
You know, I'll take that back. I guess I do know.
If I have my desktop and laptop both signed on to Skype, and my iPhone, they all ring when I receive a call.
Just have to decide what one to answer on. Smile.
Uncle, if you got all the devices sign in, all your devices will get the Skype notification. Until, you answer it from one of the device, then the rest will disappear.
Lol yup, they all start ringing. I tried it. Sometimes, one of them won't stop ringing and will just keep going for a few seconds. One thing I did was set my status to Invisible on my iPhone and iPad. that way, it doesn't show me as constantly online. I switch it back if I want people to see I'm online.
